Our hotel found itself in an unprecedented situation a few weeks ago when we reluctantly had to close our doors for the first time since The George Hotel opened around 11 years ago.

In recent weeks there's been daily news regarding the development of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as the measures and guidelines set by the federal and state governments as a consequence. We've longed for the moment we'd be allowed to open our doors once again. That time has finally arrived.

The George Hotel including our DaCaio restaurant, is eagerly looking forward to welcoming guests, friends and partners again on 15 June 2020!

You can rest assured we're waiting to offer you by far the most pleasant location, by far the best team and by far the most comfortable lofts for you to switch off and relax in. Because you are by far the best guests, partners and clients we could wish for.

Our gastronomic and hosting instincts jump for joy at the thought that soon we'll be able to welcome and indulge you once again, because that has always been, and remains, our passion.

Please assist us in implementing the measures at our hotel in order to protect the health and wellbeing of our guests and staff.

Important measures and safeguards without sacrificing charm and design.

Far and away our favourite thing is welcoming you.

But we'll have to stay rather far and away - for as long as it's necessary to do so. Nevertheless, we remain devoted and passionate hosts. Help us to comply with the regulations and take care to observe the required minimum distance of 1.5m in our public areas. Many thanks!

The health, safety and wellbeing of our guests, partners, clients and staff have always been our top priority. It goes without saying that right now, and in the future, we'll be playing our part in containing the spread of the coronavirus.
So if we greet you for the time being wearing a face mask, then even though it will look a little different, you can rest assured our smiles are warmer than ever.

We take hygiene extremely seriously!

At The George Hotel we've increased the frequency of our cleaning cycles and are taking particular care to disinfect light switches, lift buttons, door handles and all surfaces in the public areas at even more frequent intervals. In addition, we've introduced a few changes to ensure you feel completely safe and well.

Less is more. In order to minimise additional contact areas, we've made small adaptations to our lofts in line with the current situation - but you can rest assured that, in doing this, we haven't wiped away the rooms' charm.
And speaking of cleaning - at the moment, we're not carrying out our regular interim cleaning during your stay. We'll only enter your room if you expressly ask us to do so. It goes without saying that rooms undergo thorough deep cleaning and disinfection following every guest's stay.

We've installed protective perspex screens at our reception, similar to the type you'll already have encountered on shopping trips, bus journeys or visits to the bakery.

Incidentally: you can find sanitiser dispensers in all important areas of the hotel and in the restaurant.

Good and tasty news: naturally, you can continue to enjoy our delicious breakfast or a relaxed dinner here. We offer you again our balanced breakfast buffet from September, 1st. Unfortunately we can't offer you our lunch offers.

In addition, while we've increased the spacing of our tables in the restaurant, we've also generously extended our terrace area and added extra tables. Hamburg, we're ready for your sunshine and mild evenings.

Relaxation for your body, mind & soul.

Our Pure Spa by DAYSPA Hamburg is open again on 15 June 2020 with immediate effect, to provide you with precious and essential moments of relaxation, ideal in times like these.

To ensure each and every guest feels safe and well looked after here, the team works with gloves and face masks. Hand disinfection, disinfected headrests and fresh towels after each treatment are all provided as a matter of course. In addition, manicures are carried out with a perspex fixture and facial treatments with a visor/protective goggles.

All treatments are scheduled at intervals in order to avoid contact with other clients.
